Collection: Westcoast Landscapes

This series was inspired by the surrounding nature in this area. The colours and lighting on our west coast tends toward a peaceful calmness that gripped me and helped to produce this collection.

For me, the common theme is the lighting.  There are moments in the day where the lighting is pure magic in this area of the world. A sunbeam breaking through a cloud, an unexpected rainbow bursting through an ominous bank of clouds or those moments just after the sun has set - the last kiss of the gods before night falls.

This painting is produced with oil paint applied in many layers onto a framed canvas. This technique is called glazing.  This piece can be finished in a high gloss finish, which tends to bring more depth to the painting, making the colours deeper and brighter.  Or in a Matt finish which leaves the piece looking unchanged.

These pieces are unframed and will need the necessary hanging hardware to be implemented.
